Kathy provides the following:

Psychotherapy

This field of specialisation aims to help facilitate your capacity for self-actualisation, healing and change. The aim is for you to understand yourself and your relationships and create options to enable you to live an aware, creative and spontaneous life. Psychotherapy focuses to a greater extent on achieving change in the personality. Together we will look at the past, present and future. This will be facilitated through a contractual process.

Supervision

Supervision is the cornerstone of professional development for counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists and psychologists, as well as a reflective space for organisational leaders. A place of understanding the relationship between theory and practice. It is divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced stages of professional development. This is a collaborative learning relationship, a space to acknowledge and work with questions. To separate out the personal from the professional aspects of self and assist the trainee and the professional in developing and maintaining a sound ethical practice that results in a solid professional identity.

Counselling

Counselling is a professional activity within a contractual relationship. The process will enable you to develop awareness and skills that allow you to have options in your life. Counselling focuses on enhancing people’s capacity to cope with specific life challenges such as relationship ending, bereavement, and anxiety. Seeing a counsellor helps people resolve crises, reduce distress, develop goals for change and improve their wellbeing.

Social dreaming workshops

Kathy Laverty has participated in the running of the social dreaming matrix in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Social Dreaming is a method for discovering the social meaning and significance of dreams through sharing them with others. It starts from different assumptions than individual, therapeutic dreaming. This is done by the deliberate and sustained method of free association and amplification through the Social Dreaming Matrix.
