ABOUT
Kathy Laverty is a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) (CTA). She specialises in psychotherapy application working with individuals, couples, families and groups. She lives in Sydney where she works as a supervisor and trainer as well as a having a private practice working with individuals and couples in long and short-term psychotherapy.
Kathy was the Australasia Regional representative on the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) Board of Trustees between 2009 and 2011. She has served as a Board Member of PACFA from 2013 to 2015 and as a Council Delegate from 2007. She is involved in national and international training and certification for the field of psychotherapy.
Kathy was born in South Africa and founded the Kgodisong Youth Centre in Alexandra where she worked with traumatised youth. She studied dance therapy in New York and is a graduate of the Royal Ballet School in London.
Her focus is on working relationally. Together, with the client, a safe and exploratory environment is created for the (therapeutic) work to take place. A contract is established for the desired outcome in an empathetic and respectful way.
